Yes. As a protein powder manufacturer with in-house R&D, we formulate to your targets: protein per serve, protein source (whey, milk or plant), flavour, sweetener and cost per serve. Where targets conflict, such as 24 g protein in a 30 g chocolate scoop, we show the options with costs, for example switching to whey isolate or moving to a 33 g scoop. Flavour is developed with the formulation, not added at the end, and tested in the liquid your customer will use, such as water or milk.

Powders that absorb moisture need high-barrier materials, and the powder's bulk density sets the scoop and pack size.

Nutraceutical and health supplement powders fall under the FSS (Health Supplements, Nutraceuticals, Food for Special Dietary Use, Food for Special Medical Purpose, and Prebiotic and Probiotic Food) Regulations, 2022. Manufacturers are licensed only through Central Licensing Authorities. Labels cannot claim to treat, cure, mitigate or prevent a disease unless FSSAI permits it. Where FSSAI has not set a level, a nutrient content claim needs at least 15% of the ICMR RDA and a “high” claim at least 30%, and vitamins and minerals can be added above label claim within set limits, declared as “appropriate overages added”.

Ask for evidence on eight points before you sign: a Central FSSAI licence with your category endorsed; food safety certificates with numbers and validity dates; who owns the formula after development, in writing; a pilot batch in the production plant, not only bench samples; which tests run on every batch and in which lab; how low-dose vitamins and minerals are pre-blended and checked; minimum quantity per pack format and what moves cost per serve; and how the best-before date is set before packs are printed.
